They all offer outdoor weather ratings suitable for permanent installation. The list includes cameras with higher resolution, larger zoom capabilities, or more durable physical designs. You can compare these models based on your specific coverage needs. Whether you need a budget-friendly dome or a premium PTZ unit, these choices provide distinct advantages. The following sections break down each spec to help you decide.
How Each Alternative Compares
Reolink TrackMix Dual-Lens PoE PTZ Camera
The Reolink TrackMix PoE keeps the dual-lens concept but adds PTZ capabilities, allowing you to actively track subjects with zoom detail. While the Duo 3 offers a fixed 180-degree panoramic view, this model lets you zoom in on specific targets without losing wider context. It is larger and heavier, measuring 8.98 inches long and weighing 4.3 pounds. You gain active tracking but lose the seamless, distortion-free wide-angle coverage that defines the Duo 3. Choose this if you need to follow movement closely rather than just watching a broad area.
Reolink Duo Dual-Lens Panoramic Camera
The Reolink Duo 2V PoE is a vandal-resistant dome that offers 8MP resolution across its dual lenses. It trades the high 16MP clarity of the Duo 3 for an IK10-rated housing, making it ideal for high-risk areas vulnerable to physical tampering. Unlike the Duo 3’s sleek design, this unit is bulkier, weighing 2.27 pounds with a 5.43-inch width. It lacks motorized movement, relying on a manual bracket for positioning. Pick this alternative if your priority is physical durability and wide 180-degree coverage in locations where vandalism is a concern.
Amcrest 5MP Vandal-Resistant PoE Dome Camera
The Amcrest 5MP PoE Vandal Dome is a fixed camera that prioritizes physical durability over advanced features. It offers 5MP resolution, which is lower than the Duo 3’s 16MP, and lacks the dual-lens panoramic view. However, it provides a sturdy, wide-angle fixed field of view suitable for areas where vandalism is a concern. It is lighter and more compact, with a 3.19-inch length. You give up smart motion tracking and color night vision range for a budget-friendly, robust option that requires no complex setup or moving parts.
SUNBA Outdoor 4K 20X PTZ Camera
The SUNBA 4K 20x Optical Zoom PTZ Camera focuses on long-range monitoring with 8MP resolution and powerful optical zoom. It differs significantly from the Duo 3 by offering 20x zoom instead of a fixed panoramic view. This model is designed for large outdoor spaces where you need to see distant details. It includes two-way audio and night vision but lacks the seamless wide-angle coverage of the Duo 3. Choose this if you need to monitor wide areas from a distance and require zoom capabilities rather than a single broad frame.
Anpviz 4MP PoE Audio Dome Camera
The Anpviz 4MP PoE Audio Dome Camera provides fixed outdoor monitoring with audio recording capabilities. It offers 4MP resolution, which is lower than the Duo 3’s 16MP, and lacks dual lenses or panoramic views. This camera is ideal for fixed surveillance spots where audio recording is needed but speaker output is not. It is compact, weighing 0.4 kilograms, and features night vision. You sacrifice high resolution and smart tracking for a simpler, vandal-resistant dome that captures both video and audio in a single fixed location.
Amcrest Refurbished 4K AI Turret Camera
The Amcrest 4K Turret PoE AI Camera delivers 8MP resolution with wide-angle color night vision and human detection. It is a fixed turret camera, unlike the Duo 3’s dual-lens design, offering a broad view without the panoramic stitching. This model suits users who prioritize color visibility and AI detection over high frame rates or two-way talk. It lacks the 180-degree coverage and motion tracking features of the Duo 3. Select this alternative if you need reliable wide-angle monitoring with color night vision and smart detection in a compact, fixed form factor.
