Who it fits

Key specs explained for this camera

Video Resolution: 5.0MP

This sensor captures images at 2560x1920 pixels, which is higher than standard 1080p models. You get sharper details when zooming in on faces or license plates. This resolution helps you identify subjects clearly without needing to store excessive data, provided you use efficient compression. It suits buyers who need clarity for large areas or distant objects.

Optical Zoom: 5x

The lens physically magnifies the image by five times without losing quality. You can spot details far away, such as a front door or gate, while keeping the camera mounted in a fixed position. Digital zoom blurs images, but optical zoom keeps them crisp. Choose this if you need to cover a wide area and zoom in on specific points.

Night Vision: 100ft

Built-in infrared LEDs illuminate your scene up to 100 feet in total darkness. You get clear black-and-white video at night without needing external lights. This range covers most residential driveways and yards. If your property is larger, you may need multiple units. This spec ensures you see activity after sunset without relying on streetlights.

Weather Rating: IP66

This rating means the camera is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets. You can install it outside without worrying about rain, snow, or hose sprays damaging the internals. The metal housing adds durability. Look for this rating if you live in a region with heavy storms or high humidity to ensure long-term reliability.

Power Source: PoE

Power over Ethernet sends electricity and data through a single network cable. You do not need a separate power adapter or outlet near the camera. This simplifies installation and reduces clutter. You need a PoE switch or NVR to operate it. This option is ideal for clean setups where running extra power lines is difficult or impossible.

Design and Build Quality

The listing describes a professional 3.5-inch metal pan-tilt-zoom IP IR PTZ dome security camera. The housing features a brown anti-explosion cover and a robust metal case. This construction is rated IP66 waterproof, meaning it resists dust and powerful water jets. You can install it in outdoor environments without worrying about rain damage. The unit also includes built-in surge and lightning protection devices for bad weather conditions.

According to the listing, the camera measures 4.7 inches in width and length, with a height of 4.4 inches. It weighs 1.15 pounds. These dimensions suggest a compact footprint that mounts easily to walls or ceilings. The metal body provides durability, while the dome shape offers a discreet appearance. The brown finish helps the unit blend into various exterior backgrounds.

The layout includes remote control pan, tilt, and zoom functions. You can adjust the view from a distance. The pan range covers 0° to 355°, and the tilt range spans 0° to 90°. This wide movement allows you to cover large areas. The design prioritizes functionality and weather resistance. You get a solid build suitable for continuous surveillance in challenging conditions. The professional-grade materials indicate a focus on longevity and performance in outdoor settings.

Setup and Everyday Use Guide

Setting up this camera requires a Power over Ethernet connection. The listing notes that a separate PoE injector, switch, or NVR is necessary to operate the unit. Power supplies and injectors are not included. You must connect the camera to a compatible 5MP PoE NVR. It works directly with models from Hikvision, Laview, LTS, and EZVIZ. For Lorex and Dahua systems, you may need to enable DHCP first. This plug-and-play design simplifies initial installation for those with existing network video infrastructure. Once powered, you control the pan and tilt functions remotely. The pan range covers 0 to 355 degrees at a speed of 45 degrees per second. The tilt moves from 0 to 90 degrees at 25 degrees per second. You can adjust the view quickly to track movement or scan areas. The 5x optical zoom allows you to focus on specific details without losing clarity. The lens adjusts from 2.7 to 13.5mm. Night vision relies on two strong IR array LEDs, providing visibility up to 100 feet. The H.265 compression helps manage storage space efficiently during continuous recording. The IP66 rating ensures the metal housing withstands outdoor conditions. You can rely on this setup for consistent monitoring in various weather conditions. The surge and lightning protection devices add durability for outdoor placement. This camera suits users who need professional-grade remote control and clear zoom capabilities.

Before You Buy This PTZ Camera

This Vonnision camera requires specific infrastructure to function. You must provide a PoE switch, injector, or compatible NVR. The listing confirms compatibility with Hikvision, Laview, LTS, and EZVIZ units. Lorex and Dahua systems may work if DHCP is enabled, but you should verify this with your specific model before purchasing. Since power supplies are not included, plan your cabling accordingly. The metal housing offers IP66 protection, so regular cleaning of the lens and dome cover is necessary to maintain image clarity in outdoor environments. Dust and debris can accumulate, affecting the 100ft night vision range. This unit fits well into existing professional-grade setups. If you already have a 5MP PoE system, this camera integrates seamlessly. For new installations, ensure your network supports the bandwidth required for 5.0MP streams. Check your NVR’s channel capacity and storage limits. This camera suits users who need remote pan and tilt control with high-resolution detail. It does not replace the need for a robust network switch. Verify your switch provides enough PoE budget for all connected devices.

Check before you buy

• Confirm your NVR supports 5MP resolution and H.265 compression
• Verify PoE switch budget covers all connected cameras
• Check Hikvision or Dahua compatibility if using those systems
• Ensure you have a PoE injector or switch ready
• Plan for regular lens cleaning to maintain night vision clarity
