How to choose the right one
-
Check resolution needs
Resolution determines the level of detail in your footage. The Funxwe 8MP 20X Wireless PTZ Camera provides high resolution for clear identification of faces or license plates. If you do not need extreme detail, the 5MP models offer sufficient clarity for general monitoring. Higher megapixel counts require more bandwidth and storage. Choose 8MP if you prioritize sharpness over cost or bandwidth efficiency. Select 5MP if standard clarity meets your security requirements.
-
Assess zoom range
Optical zoom allows you to see distant objects without losing quality. The Funxwe 8MP 20X and 5MP 20X models offer 20X zoom for long-range surveillance. The Funxwe 5MP 5X model provides 5X zoom for closer coverage. If you need to monitor large perimeters, choose a 20X zoom camera. For areas requiring less magnification, the 5X option is compact and efficient. Match the zoom level to your maximum viewing distance to avoid unnecessary bulk.
-
Verify Wi-Fi stability
Wireless PTZ cameras rely on stable network connections. All listed Funxwe models support dual-band Wi-Fi for reliable connectivity. This feature helps reduce interference in busy network environments. Ensure your router supports the required bands for smooth video streaming. A stable connection prevents lag during motion tracking events. Check your network strength at the installation point before mounting. Dual-band support is essential for maintaining consistent performance with high-resolution video feeds.
-
Consider physical size
The physical dimensions affect mounting options and visibility. The Funxwe 8MP 20X model measures 6 inches wide and 8 inches long. The Funxwe 5MP 5X model is more compact at 4.4 inches wide. Larger cameras may offer better heat dissipation but are more noticeable. Smaller units blend into surroundings more easily. Measure your mounting location to ensure the camera fits. Consider the weight, which ranges up to 1.6 pounds, when selecting brackets.
-
Evaluate motion tracking
Motion tracking automates the camera movement to follow activity. All Funxwe models in this guide include motion tracking features. This function reduces the need for constant manual monitoring. The camera pans and tilts to keep moving subjects in frame. Ensure your installation allows for the full pan and tilt range. Motion tracking is most effective when paired with adequate lighting. This feature is useful for monitoring driveways or entry points automatically.
