VIKYLIN 4K 8MP PoE Vandal Alternatives: 6 Similar Picks Compared

How each alternative compares

Vonnision 8MP 5X Optical Zoom PTZ Dome Camera

The Vonnision 8MP PTZ Dome adds 5X optical zoom to the standard 8MP fixed lens of the VIKYLIN. This allows you to digitally zoom in on distant details without losing clarity, which the fixed 2.8mm wide-angle lens on the VIKYLIN cannot do. Both use PoE and H.265 compression for efficient storage. The Vonnision trades the IK10 vandal-proof rating of the VIKYLIN for this zoom capability. If you need to monitor large areas or identify faces at a distance, the optical zoom is a significant upgrade. However, you lose the specific physical durability rating of the original model. It suits users who prioritize detailed remote viewing over maximum physical impact resistance.

Anpviz 5-Inch 4K 5X Optical Zoom Dome Camera

The Anpviz 5-Inch 4K Dome includes a built-in 5-inch screen, a feature the VIKYLIN lacks entirely. This allows for local viewing without needing a separate monitor or mobile app. Like the VIKYLIN, it offers 8MP resolution and PoE connectivity. It also features 5X optical zoom, providing flexible viewing angles that the fixed VIKYLIN lens cannot match. The Anpviz is larger, measuring 9.4 inches in height compared to the VIKYLIN’s 4.61 inches. It supports two-way audio, adding communication capabilities. You should choose this if you want a self-contained monitoring station with zoom. You give up the compact, purely network-focused design of the original VIKYLIN for a more complex, feature-rich hardware setup.

Real HD 8MP 4K PoE Dome Camera

The Real HD 8MP 4K PoE Dome is a simpler alternative that focuses on compatibility rather than advanced features. It shares the 8MP resolution and PoE connectivity of the VIKYLIN. However, it lacks the specific EXIR 2.0 night vision technology and the IK10 vandal-proof rating mentioned for the original. It relies on H.265 compression for storage efficiency, similar to the VIKYLIN. The Real HD model is slightly larger at 5 inches square. It is designed for users who rely on third-party NVR systems and need wide-angle coverage. If you do not require the specific human/vehicle AI detection or the heavy-duty physical protection of the VIKYLIN, this model offers a straightforward, compatible option for standard outdoor monitoring needs.

Amcrest 5MP Vandal-Resistant PoE Dome Camera

The Amcrest 5MP Vandal-Resistant PoE Dome offers lower resolution than the 8MP VIKYLIN, capturing 5MP video instead. It shares the PoE connectivity and outdoor placement. The key advantage is its dedicated vandal-resistant design, similar to the IK10 rating of the VIKYLIN. It includes night vision capabilities. The Amcrest is slightly smaller, measuring 4.33 inches in width and height. It is a sturdy option for areas where physical tampering is a concern. You trade the higher 4K clarity of the VIKYLIN for this proven durability. It fits users who prioritize physical protection and reliable PoE operation over the highest possible video resolution. It is a practical choice for high-risk locations where image detail is secondary to equipment security.

SUNBA Outdoor 4K 20X PTZ Camera

The SUNBA 4K 20X PTZ Camera provides 20X optical zoom, far exceeding the fixed lens of the VIKYLIN. It shares the 8MP resolution and PoE connectivity. This camera allows you to pan, tilt, and zoom remotely, covering a much wider area than the fixed 112° view of the VIKYLIN. It includes two-way audio and night vision. The SUNBA is significantly larger and heavier, weighing 4 pounds compared to the compact VIKYLIN. It is designed for long-range monitoring of large outdoor zones. You give up the compact, vandal-proof dome form factor for extensive directional control. This model is ideal for users who need to track movement across large distances and require detailed zoom capabilities that a fixed lens cannot provide.

Amcrest 4K Outdoor PoE Bullet Camera

The Amcrest 4K Outdoor PoE Bullet Camera uses a bullet form factor instead of the dome shape of the VIKYLIN. It offers the same 8MP 4K resolution and PoE connectivity. The bullet design provides a wide-angle fixed view similar to the VIKYLIN’s 2.8mm lens. It includes weatherproofing and night vision. The Amcrest is black, while the VIKYLIN is white. It lacks the specific IK10 vandal-proof rating of the VIKYLIN dome. This model suits users who prefer the aesthetic or mounting flexibility of a bullet camera. You trade the discreet dome look and physical impact resistance for a traditional outdoor camera design. It is a solid choice for fixed monitoring where high resolution and weather resistance are the primary requirements.
