How each alternative compares
Amcrest Refurbished 4K AI Turret Camera
The Amcrest Refurbished 4K AI Turret Camera offers a single-unit solution rather than a two-pack. This makes it ideal if you only need one camera for outdoor surveillance. It shares the 8MP resolution and PoE connectivity of the Helix model. However, it operates at a lower 15fps frame rate. You also get color night vision and human detection features. This choice suits users who already have PoE networking gear. It is a practical option for single-camera setups where budget is a concern. The refurbished status may appeal to those looking for value without sacrificing core imaging capabilities.
Amcrest 8MP Turret PoE AI Camera
The Amcrest 8MP Turret PoE AI Camera provides a compact form factor compared to the larger Helix unit. It delivers 8MP resolution and human detection for outdoor use. This model supports color night vision and wide-angle views. It lacks two-way audio, which simplifies the hardware. You can store footage locally, appealing to users who prefer not to use cloud services. The smaller dimensions make installation easier in tight spaces. It is a solid alternative for homeowners who prioritize local storage and clear imaging. The trade-off is the absence of two-way audio communication. It fits well for static monitoring where voice interaction is not required.
AMLINK 2-Pack 4K 8MP PoE Turret Camera
The AMLINK 2-Pack 4K 8MP PoE Turret Camera includes two-way audio, a feature the Helix model does not list. It offers NDAA compliance and wide-angle coverage similar to the original. The physical dimensions are slightly larger than the Helix camera. This model is suitable for users who need to speak through the camera. It maintains 8MP resolution and PoE connectivity for reliable wired performance. The two-way audio adds a layer of interaction for outdoor monitoring. It is a good choice for those who want both video clarity and voice communication. The slightly bulkier design accommodates the additional audio hardware. It fits well for properties where remote interaction is part of security needs.
SUNBA Outdoor 4K 20X PTZ Camera
The SUNBA Outdoor 4K 20X PTZ Camera uses a PTZ form factor instead of a fixed turret. It provides 20x optical zoom for long-range surveillance, which the Helix model cannot match. This camera is designed for large outdoor areas where you need to track details from a distance. It includes two-way audio and night vision capabilities. The 8MP resolution ensures clear images even when zoomed in. This option suits users who need to monitor wide spaces with variable focus. It is heavier and larger than the fixed Helix camera. The PTZ functionality allows you to pan and tilt remotely. It is ideal for properties requiring detailed observation of distant objects.
Amcrest 4K Outdoor PoE AI Bullet Camera
The Amcrest 4K Outdoor PoE AI Bullet Camera uses a bullet form factor rather than a turret. It offers 8MP resolution and human detection for outdoor monitoring. This model includes color night vision for clear low-light imaging. The bullet design is often preferred for specific mounting angles. It is a single-unit purchase, unlike the Helix two-pack. This suits buyers who prioritize detailed visual identification over bundled value. The wired PoE connection ensures stable performance. It is a practical choice for users who need a single, high-resolution camera. The trade-off is the lack of a multi-camera bundle. It fits well for targeted surveillance of specific entry points or pathways.
Amcrest 4K PoE AI Bullet Camera 2-Pack
The Amcrest 4K PoE AI Bullet Camera 2-Pack provides a two-camera bundle similar to the Helix model. It uses a bullet form factor for outdoor monitoring. The 8MP resolution and human detection features are comparable to the original. This model includes color night vision for clear imaging in low light. It is designed for users who prefer wired stability and AI detection. The two-pack option offers good coverage for multiple entry points. It is a solid choice for those who want wide-angle outdoor monitoring. The trade-off is the bullet shape, which may not fit all mounting preferences. It suits users who prioritize reliable performance and detailed visual identification over other features.

Frequently asked questions
What resolution do these Helix Security alternatives offer?
Most listed alternatives provide 8MP resolution, which equates to 4K clarity. This high pixel count captures fine details in outdoor surveillance. You will see clear images of faces and license plates. The SUNBA PTZ and Amcrest bullet models also use 8MP sensors. This ensures consistent image quality across different form factors like turret and bullet styles.
Are these cameras PoE or wireless?
All listed alternatives use Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity. This means you run a single cable for both power and data. You do not need separate power adapters for each unit. This setup offers stable connections for outdoor monitoring. You must have PoE networking gear to install these cameras effectively.
Do these models include night vision capabilities?
Yes, night vision is a standard feature across these options. Most models specifically highlight color night vision for better identification in low light. The SUNBA PTZ also includes standard night vision for long-range tracking. This allows you to monitor your property clearly during nighttime hours without losing color detail.
Which alternative is best for wide-angle coverage?
The Helix Security 4K AI Turret and Amcrest 8MP Turret are ideal for wide-angle surveillance. These turret form factors provide broad views of outdoor areas. The Amcrest Bullet Camera also offers wide-angle monitoring for precise coverage. If you need to track details far away, the SUNBA PTZ provides optical zoom instead.
Do these cameras have AI human detection?
Several models feature AI human detection to reduce false alarms. The Helix Security, Amcrest Refurbished, and Amcrest 8MP Turret all include this feature. The Amcrest Bullet Camera 2-Pack also uses AI detection for reliable monitoring. This technology helps you focus on actual human activity rather than passing shadows or animals.
Is two-way audio available on these cameras?
Two-way audio is available on select models for direct communication. The AMLINK 2-Pack and SUNBA PTZ cameras include this feature. You can speak through the camera to deter intruders or greet visitors. Most other listed turret and bullet models do not mention two-way audio in their specifications.
What form factors are available in these alternatives?
You can choose from turret, bullet, and PTZ form factors. Turret cameras like the Helix and Amcrest models are compact for corners. Bullet cameras offer a streamlined look for walls. The SUNBA PTZ dome allows remote panning and tilting. Each form factor suits different outdoor surveillance needs and installation spots.
