6 Best Alternatives to the Amcrest 4MP 25x Optical Zoom (2026)

Comparing Key Spec Differences

Amcrest 4MP Outdoor PTZ Camera

This Amcrest model shares the 4MP resolution and 25x optical zoom of the original but uses a larger 5mm to 125mm lens system. It maintains the same PoE connectivity and outdoor IP66 rating for weather resilience. The primary difference lies in its specific lens configuration, which may offer slightly different focal characteristics for long-range detail. You get the same AI human and vehicle detection features for smart alerts. If you prefer this specific lens range for your mounting distance, it serves as a direct premium alternative. It retains the dome form factor and white color for discreet installation. The weight is listed at 7.01 pounds, indicating a sturdy build for sustained outdoor operation without compromising on the core surveillance capabilities you expect from the brand.

Anpviz 4MP PoE Audio Dome Camera

The Anpviz option shifts away from pan-tilt-zoom functionality entirely. It is a fixed 4MP dome camera designed for stationary wide-angle coverage rather than active tracking. It connects via PoE and supports night vision, making it suitable for ONVIF systems. You lose the ability to remotely pan, tilt, or zoom, which is the main advantage of the original. However, this fixed design is often more reliable for areas where you need constant, unchanging coverage. It is lighter at 0.4 kilograms and has a compact 5.3-inch width. This choice suits you if you need broad monitoring without the mechanical complexity or power draw of a motorized PTZ unit. It provides solid 4MP resolution for general area surveillance.

Amcrest 2MP 25x Optical Zoom PTZ PoE Camera

This Amcrest camera reduces the resolution to 2MP while keeping the powerful 25x optical zoom and AI detection features. It is a dome-style outdoor unit with PoE connectivity and night vision capabilities. You trade higher pixel density for the same long-range zoom performance. The 2MP resolution is sufficient for identifying faces and vehicles at distance, though it offers less detail for close-up review. It weighs 11.2 pounds, suggesting a robust housing for the motorized components. This model is ideal if you prioritize zoom range and intelligent alerts over high-resolution static image quality. It maintains the same white color and outdoor durability. Choose this if your primary need is monitoring large perimeters with AI alerts rather than capturing high-definition stills.

Amcrest 4MP Outdoor PTZ PoE+ Dome Camera

This Amcrest model keeps the 4MP resolution but reduces the optical zoom to 5x. It retains the PoE connectivity and outdoor dome form factor. The key difference is its focus on AI human tracking rather than extreme long-range zoom. You get automated subject following, which is useful for monitoring specific pathways or entrances. The 5x zoom is adequate for medium-range monitoring but lacks the reach of the original 25x lens. It measures 10.7 inches in height and 6.52 inches in length. This camera suits you if you want active tracking of people without the bulk and power requirements of a 25x zoom motor. It provides clear 4MP video for detailed identification at closer ranges.

Real HD 4MP PoE Turret Camera

The Real HD camera is a fixed 4MP turret unit with PoE connectivity. It lacks pan-tilt-zoom mechanisms entirely, offering a stationary wide-angle view instead. Its standout feature is color night vision, which the original PTZ model does not explicitly highlight in the same way. You give up remote camera movement and optical zoom for continuous broad-area monitoring. The unit is compact at 4 inches in height and width. It is designed for outdoor use and provides clear video in low-light conditions with color reproduction. This option fits you if you need to see colors at night in a wide field of view. It is a simpler, static solution that avoids the mechanical wear of motorized parts while delivering high-resolution 4MP footage.

Amcrest 5MP Vandal-Resistant PoE Dome Camera

This Amcrest camera increases the resolution to 5MP but removes all PTZ functionality. It is a fixed dome camera with PoE connectivity and night vision. You gain sharper static image detail but lose the ability to pan, tilt, or zoom remotely. The 5MP resolution provides more pixels for cropping into fixed areas of interest. It is a vandal-resistant design suitable for high-traffic outdoor locations. The dimensions are compact at 4.33 inches wide and 4.33 inches high. This model is best for you if you need maximum detail in a specific, unchanging zone. It eliminates the maintenance of moving parts while offering superior resolution for fixed monitoring points. The white dome design blends into most outdoor environments effectively.
